My Blue Heaven

Hello all and thanks for coming back again. Don't forget to follow and leave a message for a chance to win my giveaway. Today I have a custom job to work on and a big plan of organization for my kitchen to get my spring cooking supplies easily accessible. The reason I put this print up is that is can be seen two different ways. One is on it is a bird on a wire and could fall off at any time. The second way is what a warm vibrant fun print.
Me I naturally lean towards the latter of the two. So this is my attempt to get every one to see the warm vibrant side today.
oh and just to sweeten the pot on my give away I may add a Amish friendship bread treat to the pot. Have a great day all.

Another First

I have spent a lot of time the last few weeks working up my online presence. Thanks to you lovely folks I have gone from 3 to 12 followers and hope to be moving up more. It made me realize how very much I like trying new things. So in that vein I am excited to try another first. I am going to start selling some of my photography in sets. This is the first set and I would love your opinions on it. They will be sold in sets of 3 mainly and will come matted ready to frame.

Find your Destresser

In this day of wake up early and go to bed late, work 15hr days, and just general over scheduling we all need to find our de stresser. In the last few weeks I have talked to several of my fellow artist or small business owners who have told me they are completely burnt out. Some have said they cant sleep or have trouble focusing. Well after some discussion it has turned out that each of those folks has turned what ever they used to do as their sole de stresser is now their job. So my post is just to encourage all of us to make sure we find a balance.

I have tons of hobbies. They include every thing from boxing to bird watching but one of the most relaxing I have found is gardening.

I love the satisfaction of having my own beautiful and inexpensive cut flowers as well the taste of my own fresh vegetables. In this season of spring my little plants are gr owning and I can spend a little time each day playing in the dirt.

So in closing try to find some thing you don't do for any one but you and enjoy. I truly believe it keeps you fresh in your spirit so you can show up feisty for the rest of your day. I will be doing a post soon on gardening tips for those who are interested.

New Green Creations

The last few days as I go around what I affectionately call my art cave looking for what I can give the new life it has just been waiting for a shot I have been very lucky. This is a picture of a work I have put in my Etsy shop that I love. For some reason the tile I have had for 2 yrs the cork I have had for 3 and the shell fragments from a gifting a few months ago all suddenly spoke to me. I love this work because these are not 3 items you would typically see together. Just thought I would share. There is of course always new things in all 3 of my shops here are the links. Each have their own special vibe and right now is 10% of of my Artfire shop. Don't forget about our give away it is a few post down and easy to enter.

Use The Things You Love

I received a call from a friend today to shore up our plans to get together this week. She recently moved back to the area and we are having a blast hanging out. When we talked she thanked me for some thing and I wanted to share it with you all. She told me that being at my home made her realize she wanted to go and look over her family photo albums. Then she thought of her family heirlooms and how many of mine are on display and she wanted to see those family items out in her home. So now we are going out to use one as a inspiration piece in each room.
So the moral of my little story is use what you love it will make you feel good. The picture above is of a little Mary Alter my grandmother had and loved so much she would not put it out side. When she passed away I was asked if there was any thing I wanted. I remember her devout faith and her love of this item and I asked for it. Now it sits directly across from where I have my morning coffee and every day I feel like she is there enjoying coffee as that was her favorite drink right along with me. While I am not Catholic I enjoy having it out as a reminder of her and her strength.
Remember heirlooms can be some thing you love that cost 50 cents. I don't believe this alter cost very much but I care for it like it was the Mona Lisa.
In closing if your itching for a change to a room try taking down some of the stuff you like and putting out some thing that you love.

Creating Via Dreams

The image above came from what I guess would be construed as a recurring nightmare. In the dream I had a killer come to my house where I realized he was actually terrified of me and wanted to tell me to stop following him. I left him standing there next to another person he killed to go to the town hall /police department and report him. When I got there I found all the people staring at this doll that I had hidden in storage but some one must have gotten out. What was odd about it was that I hate dolls. The children all had cracks in their skin like it was rubber and lesions all over. Their eyes were completely black with no eye ball inside. They were all doing repetitive actions over and over and as I ran out of the building overwhelmed by the creepy factor I saw these 3 holding the doll. I have had some folks say why create such dark images but for me I see no reason not to. I have found that creating them often removes the dream from my cycle of dreams. So in closing I would love to hear how often you create what you dream at night good or bad.
