Sets of paintings

I have really been wanting to try so many different things recently not sure why. Today I am working on a silver ware chest, a penis superhero pendant complete with cape, several aceos, some jewelery and a painting. Oh and a set of 6 or 7 fabric hoops. Not sure why but I feel very inspired as of late. How about the rest of you. As for the sets of paintings this seems to be a new thing for me I want to makes pairs, set ect.

Gratitude Wednesday

Gratitude Wednesday is always a day I look forward to. All week I try to write down those little happy bits to share and hope people enjoy and it reminds them of the happy little moments from day to day in their own lives.
So this week I have a variety for ya.
1. For the old crazy gray kitty who won the king of the hill game and claimed my new throw rug I made for my living room. While yes it is a odd choice most things in my home are a little odd.
2. I am grateful that I was came across a chance to help a lady make a gift basket for a auction that is part of a huge cancer benefit that she is doing. The lady is very young a survivor and really just inspirational. She is such a fighter I think she might need to start wearing a viking hat and toting a shield. She really just puts things in perspective. Here is a link in case you want to donate in any way. Also Regretsy is doing a bunch of work to help with the cause and here is a link for them as well. They have several ebay auctions to support this and a deal if you buy a book on amazon. this is her link then here is a link to one of the Regretsy auctions for the same cause just in case any of you want to support it or check it out.
3. I am grateful for air conditioning. We went straight from 60s -80s and well frankly screw that it is humid and icky and I think the sound of the humming AC might make good meditation music.
4. For the fact the car is back in tact as well the dogs butt. Now if we can just finish up with the down and out kitty paw maybe we can have a good summer.
5. For my birthday this weekend. Nothing like cake, drinks and not being dead. I mean yes I will be a year older I will be 32 but what other options are there really. Vampire no I like the daylight and I am claustrophobic. Zombie hmm no why be alive if you cannot enjoy it. So I shall be having some fun this weekend and will try to remember to get pics.
So what are you grateful for this week.

Beating the heat and enjoying the day

This is a very weird little work of mine and not my normal oddness. I like it though. Recently I have been moving in a lot of new work directions which I can only assume has to do with getting older as I will be 32 later this week. I think it may also have to do with trying to do new things and stepping out of my comfort zone.
So this week is going to be all about beating the heat and finding creative ways to do so. I hate just sitting inside on these unbearable humid and hot days. Here are my little tips for beating the heat I would love to see some of yours here as well.
1. I always pick this time to pull out my summer art, fabrics any thing cheerful. I find the more outdoors I can bring in the less I hate being indoors.
2. For the hottest part of the day pull out some of your favorite summer movies. I like the goofy stuff.
3. Iced tea becomes a staple for me. I love to throw in some fresh mint one day maybe some cherries another just keep it interesting.
4. I get very into the garden in the early a.m. and dusk.
so happy Monday yall and how do you beat the heat.

It's A New Day

Well recently I have spent a lot of time being angry with Etsy and just feeling in a rut. So I am breaking out of said rut. Etsy knows how I feel so till I hear from them what they are going to do there is not much more I can do. So I am shaking up my stuff. I have changed the colors to a more spring summer feel would love opinions by the way.
these two works above are part of 4 panels of flowers I am doing. Flowers are not my usual thing but I wanted to do some thing a little different. I made my first couple of treasuries which I loved it is like making your own magazine page.
Then later this week is my birthday. As opposed to being a grump about all the things that are wrong I am going to make a avid attempt to go out and have fun as was planned. After all hell I or any one else could be dead before our next birthday you never know so enjoy the moment.
So I am off to make myself a strawberry throw rug and yes you will see it soon.
love Cappy

Censorship Beyond Reason Hits Etsy

So as many of you are Etsy shoppers and store owners I feel I have to say some thing in a forum where Etsy cannot close it down as they have done most threads on the topic. The photo above is the loosest interpretation of meeting the rules Etsy has set forth for us mature art sellers. I can choose just to cover up any thing that is genitalia or such or I am allowed to make a first image so you would have to click on that which clearly states what it is prior to seeing the full image.
I have always followed this rule it is fair enough but still allows for plenty of visibility. I do not see how any child could make out any thing from this picture as I can barely make it out and I painted it.
I love Etsy truly it has been a very wonderful and open minded place to sell my art. They have helped me with business and I have brought customers as well. That was until this new absurd censorship that was never discussed with us. They intend to make all mature items which it appears will include any thing "not for general audiences" which best I can tell would be 6yr olds no longer show up in searches by default. You would have to go in and do some type of setting to even see a whole slew of items. All of the items that you no longer will see would be covered just like mine up there.
Now here is the big issue. Some people in every group do not follow the rule so when some one does not in mature you end up with a photo of a clay penis or some thing which is a problem for some. So as opposed to hiring people to enforce the rules etsy has decided to punish tons of sellers for the actions of a few.
I pay my fees and set up on Etsy and built my business because of there take on mature art. Then they pull the rug out from under tons of sellers and refuse to really address the issue.
So please if your a seller or a shopper show etsy you are mad. Put it in your avatar, comment in the forums or better yet write them I will not link Etsy here because I have not asked permission but you can easily click on my shops or google them and tell them how you see it.
I may very likely catch hell for writing this and if I do you will know but I felt it needed to be said.

The Best Thing For Rainy Days

These are my two little girls. They are getting old and hate haircuts. Mainly because I do it myself then laugh at them when I am done. The faces they crack me up.
This big fluffy kitty you see was a orphan. The vet took one look and said this one is not going to live there is some thing wrong with him. It may have been his little tiny unexpanded ribs, his mushy face but well now he is a slightly slow but perfectly happy big fat kitty.

This is him as a baby.

This is my big pile of sleeping babies. Every time I see this I smile.

I hope these just made you all smile to.

So I grabbed it up. while of course it makes me laugh because this is often how I end up with my treasures just sitting here writing this has given my several ideas. Treasures is my word for what my husband calls my random collection of crap. So here is my question. What do you all think I should make this into.
thanks so much

Gratitude Wednesday

Well it has been a good week with lots of reasons to be grateful. Before I go into that I want to say that this is just a little 5x7 painting I did of a woman I keep seeing in my dreams. It is probably odd but I really like her dress.
So on to the gratitude list.
1. I am so grateful that my sisters birthday was a ball. She laughed and smiled and seemed to have a great time. It is my firm belief that every one should have a night all about them every once in a while.
2. I am very grateful that I found a stash of pre cut mat board that I like to paint on and forgot about as I am almost out of canvas and like to change it up from time to time.
3. That even though my little kitty has to have surgery on his paw it is a inexpensive surgery and that we can swing it. I hate that he needs it but am so glad it is not one of those thousands of dollar deals. I am also grateful for my wonderful vets office I have total trust in the people that work there .
4. That my super hero penis painting keeps making me laugh and I have not been this entertained by some thing I made for a long time. All I can say is he has a emblem on his chest that says S.D. which I am sure you can figure out.
5. I am very grateful for the nice things I have seen this week. One was a teen being really sweet with his dog. I live in a place where hearing of people being arrested for dog fighting is not uncommon. So to be reminded that not only can teens be sweet but people in general makes me happy.
6. Of course as always Regretsy shows up. April Winchell the woman who creates the magic that is Regretsy did yet another charity effort. She helped a fellow artist who was in the Regretsy book. Besides the fact I think that alone is great it is the Regretsy fans who impressed me beyond belief. I wanted to help and logged on yesterday to go pick out a Mug. I have been wanting a mug from the website and intend on ordering it as a little birthday gift for myself and as a little gift for the charity fund. Well good lord they beat me to it. In one day people pulled together and kicked ass to the point they had already raised the money needed.
Now that wont stop me from getting my mug but it does just floor me and remind me just how many good hearted people are out there and that is some thing to be truly grateful for.
7. For the fact that other than having to stay up and keep old dogs calm we were unscathed by the storms last night.
So what are you grateful for?

When Things Go Wrong Laugh

OK as most of you who know my blog know I find nothing more humorous then when I mess up some thing. First is the tiny freaky Techno Angel stocking holder above. Not so much messed up just occasionally you make some thing so absurd you do not know what to do with it. My father and sister found it and actually thought it was cute and wanted to know if they can have them when I make it a set. This tickled me endlessly because I look at it and turn red thinking wth did I make. Then this was for my sisters birthday. My cheesecake with white chocolate sauce was going great. Then I thought hmm I should go ahead and get the happy birthday written on it while I have a little extra pre party time. So I got out the gel and thought the sauce was thick enough for it to just rest on top. I was wrong this is actually improved before they floated off so badly it said bappy irhtday Cin. So while yes I botched it made for lots of laughter and baking skill mocking. Thankfully it was still yummy.
So I share this hoping you will find some humor in your next train wreck of a project.

Happy Mothers Day

These are just some of my favorite pictures of my mom and grands for the day :) The one above is my mom on her fist trip where she flew. She loved that green outfit.
This is my grandmother with her first great grandchild on my grandmothers birthday. The great grand kids as you can see adored her.

My grandmas together. I have used this picture before but I love it so here it is again.

This was my mom when she was in her early 20s. She loved this photo her young working woman photo.

This was her just after she got married hehe I think she was a bit of a ham. Which was fun to watch where ever there was action there was my mom.
Hope you all are having a special day as well.

Today I realized I am not a hobo

So all the time I come on here and say we should take care of ourselves by taking a break, meditation, hot bath what ever ya like. Well it really struck me today how very crazy I have been. I went to get dressed going to run out to mail packages this morning. My plain old tennis shoes which were hurting me feet for some time finally completely cracked and had to be replaced. God forbid I should replace them before I absolutely had to. So I put that on my little to do list then thought OK let the dogs out while you get dressed.
So I put the dogs out then go to pull out clothing to go with the my other shoes. This is the point when my dogs go bat shit crazy barking. I go out to find they have got a rabbit running all over the yard for its little life. I rush out to stop them from eating rabbit because well they already get food.
Just as I get out there I feel a big draft and realize I have only gotten partially dressed and have no undies. Just then I see the neighbor and realize the reason I can feel a draft is because I have still got a nightgown on with a whole in the side of the butt.
So as my dogs and my humiliated ass go back in the house I think OK time to add to the list a new night gown.
When I went to go shopping I found some shoes of course I went to payless and got myself the best deal I could find. Then I hit the closest place a Fashion bug for a night gown.
What do I do head right over for the clearance rack and that was when it hit me.
I had no problem laying down money for the husband to get new clothing 2 weeks ago. When the cat cut his paw I did not blink. When my sisters birthday came up I got her just what I wanted to. So why in the hell am I treating myself like a hobo who has no money and has to live in depression era poverty. My husband is constantly telling me to buy myself stuff if I need it so no pressure there. Then I realized some where along the way I forgot it was OK to make myself a priority as well.
You always here it is woman with children who forget that. Well I am here to remind us all that even those with out kids can do the same thing. I mean there was no reason on Gods green earth that I needed to be wandering around in a nightgown in that sad of shape. As a matter of fact when I started to get only one night gown I said to myself hey ya cheap bastard get two so I got a pretty one and a casual one.
So yes this story was embarrassing to tell but I am hoping it reminds us all to take care and make ourselves a priority once in a while.
Hope you enjoyed it.

Gratitude Wednesday And Some Scary Stuff

Well I am one of those people who love to work out my issues in my art. Sad for some because my work disturbs them but then I make nutty crap like this and it entertains me. The photo above is of a book of scary things. Some are my issues like spiders then some are not scary to me at all liked birds or snow. I hope just the cover makes you grin.
Now on to my gratitude list.
1. I am grateful that with the little time the husband has had off we have made the most of it and had a good time laughing and carrying on. It is so easy to forget to enjoy the moment.
2. My steady little stream of sales. They are not huge but steady and that is nice. It makes me feel good about what I do. I am especially happy to say a lot of them are from my clay shop. I had started to second guess even having one.
3. For The fact that no matter how many gray hairs show up or wrinkles appear my sister will always be older. That just makes me all warm and fuzzy inside.
4. For Mojo, dreams, spookyness what ever ya want to call it boy it gives me ideas to create and I love it.
5. This one I am especially grateful for. I read a post on Regretsy Today where some guy was outraged by a joke she made about Boston. Just reading what she wrote and what he wrote about it actually made me laugh till I thought I was going to have a asthma attack. I love things that are that funny.
so these are my little joys what are yours

Clouds, Vipers and goals

So recently I have noticed a shift not sure if it is the weather that makes me want to enjoy life more or simply that I have been very busy and am happy for the down time. In any case I have spent a lot of time this week doing little nice things and wanted to remind every one to make time for those little things that make you happy.
For me it is clouds. I have so many pictures of clouds now that I love one wall in my living room is slowly being covered in cloud prints.
Then Vipers that figures in as a song I just found and love and keep listening to. It is called Viper Mad and the artist is Carolina Chocolate Drops. It is a reefer song which I love my favorite is a recording of "If Your A Viper" from the late 40s early 50s. Not sure why but those songs always crack me up I don't know maybe thoughts of youth :)
Then there are goals. I find that if I can keep myself making reasonable goals I feel better. So those are my little secrets what are yours?

Cool Art Show Coming up with Regretsy Artist

OK to start with this picture has nothing to do with the art show just wanted to share it because the color makes me smile.
So on to the good stuff. Here is a link to the ladies blog who is holding the show. She has all kinds of cool stuff from herself and lots of Regretsy artist. I so wish I lived close enough to go and wanted to share it with you all. Check it out if you really like crazy fun art.
