500 blog post a new year and new goals and a Happy New Year to you all

This is going to be a fairly long post.  First because it is my 500th but I also have a lot I want to get in.  First the photo above is to remind me to spend time with all my fur kids lot of time as they get older.  These are my old babies about 12 now.
These are my new friends I love them already but most important to me is not that it is doing something good giving them a home with love and kindness and no worry they won't have food or love  or a warm place to play and snuggle.  They are for me heralds of the new year and time passing.
I am working on my art and expanding and growing it.  The coming year will be about finding a better way to secure the empire and make it something solid.
Then there is this Old Chubby  Dog who I miss with all my heart most days.  She reminds me to love and live every moment.  She did and I will try and follow her example.
I remember when I made my little art shop the big thing everyone was on about was make a blog make a blog.  So I did and by god I was found by Regretsy and April Winchell via this.  Which helped me build my base.  It amazes me to think 500 times I have shared my little life and that over the years it has gotten some 16 or 17 thousand views and people reading it.  Granted that is a tiny drop in the bucket but for me it is a lot and makes me proud to share my life with you guys.
Thanks for reading, responding or just looking at pretty pictures.

Some days you just need to paint a turd

I offer the above paintings as proof of that.  In my world I am always striving to make something new and creative and not just fall back on things I have done before.  So I use new colors try new techniques and try mixing things up.
The trick I find is not to take it personal it is a craft a skill just because you made it does not make it beautiful.  If it comes out ass ugly as the two above did that is ok it lets you see what you need to work on.
These were an effort to just get my juices flowing I went in with no set idea of what I was painting in my brain.  You can tell because they both look hobbled together.
So this is my thing some days you just need to paint a turd and be ok with it.  Take it as prep work for a better creative effort in the future.
Well I just thought I would share and I hope my terrible paintings made you laugh and maybe take things a bit less serious today.

We adopted a couple of senior friends

I wanted to share part of why it has been so quiet is we are all settling in together over here.  Senior dogs often have a hard time finding a home.  Now I will say it is not perfect.  There is a little tension with the cats but as we had a dog who passed away that is quickly fading.  But they are good dogs who already know about potty training have basic manners and really needed a home.  Since they have been here our house is lit up with the warmth and happy of having them and them realizing this is home and home is warm and cozy. So if you are considering a dog get whatever you feel is right but please consider a senior too they are loving and kind dogs who really appreciate being home and come without the stress that comes with a puppy in many cases as they are already trained for a lot of things.  Hope you like the photos.

A few of my favorite things

This is just a little peek into our current decorating.  We have the owl ornament made from a finger puppet that a lovely friend sent me.  And in the background you can spot my dog ornaments.
This is my village with train wreck victims and a dragon all watched over by a giant three headed santa.
Then you have the anatomically correct Elf showing his junk to an angel while having a beer.
And a happy holidays to you too.

Busting into the holidays like the Koolaid man

Well the Thanksgiving went off plan I got sick but the good news is I am about it over it and seeing as how we don't sweat the small stuff around here we still had fun.  However this is one of those short holiday seasons so I am preparing to bust in on the holidays like the koolaid man through the wall.  This is one of my most exciting finds to date.  I have a terrible holiday village and I like to add to it every so often.  I found this treasure at the thrift store for 2 bucks it lights up and plays songs.  I am sure by Christmas someone will stab me for pushing the button.
This is one of the last things I did before I got sick and I thought I would just share it.  Hope you all had a great break and would love to hear your holiday plans.
