Best Chocolate Chip recipe in the world

Ok so I don't know if this is the best in the world but I love it and being obnoxious so  I went with the world.  Here ya go.
Ingredients list
1 bag of chocolate chips
3 cups flour
2 sticks butter
2 tbs baking powder
2 eggs
1/2tsp vanilla
1tsp caramel topping ( I like Smucker's)
3/4 cup white sugar
3/4 cup brown sugar
Preheat over to 350 degrees.
Melt to two sticks of butter not to total liquid but really soft and part liquid.
In a large bowl mix both white and brown sugar with a whisk.
Then mix in 2tbs of baking powder whisk in well.
Now put in butter
add eggs, vanilla, caramel topping and whisk again till smooth.
Now take hand held mixer and mix in the flour I do half then half.  Once all mixed in add 1 bag of your favorite chips.  I like milk chocolate.
Now I use a melon baller to get the right size balls to bake up to what you see here.  I fill it pretty fat and put them about 2-3 inches apart on a tin foil lined non stick baking sheet.
Cook 9 minutes give our take depending on your stove.
Once cool make yourself sick on cookies.

Oh my God it is almost Fall hooray

So this week I am getting the last of my projects on the house done and gearing up for Fall and going back in full time to the shop.  The above painting is going to help me kick off the new season.
Been spending some time working out on the art porch and admiring my terrible collection of sun catchers. It is one of those things I know it totally dated and makes me look old.  Oh well they crack me up and much like a raccoon I like shiny things.
I think this pretty much speaks to what I have been doing with my free time.  Life has been really good and I am just trying to remember to embrace it full force.

Soon I will be back at art stuff full time.

These three photos pretty much sum up my summer.

So I had a old ugly chair turns art throne

This is the story of my new chair.  I simply wanted to put it to use and said hey I can do better.
First thing I did was bought this.  Why this because I wanted a art cave throne to just flat be silly and thrones should be metallic of course.
Then I dug out my sad 1970s Rothman chair.  Now the fabric would be great in theory I mean red plush right but it was old and very worn and did not look nice.  The wood also had a lot of damage.
This photo shows the age on the fabric better.  It also shows the first layer of metallic paint.  Please ignore the dirt this is out in front of my garage.
This is the chair with finished paint.  As you can see I even considered painting the fabric.
Then this is it all finished.  Not bad for a total cost of under twelve dollars.
It still needs a touch of straightening but you get the idea.

Trash cans and benches and more

So this last week was a really busy but great week.  I finished off some smaller projects but I also got some wonderful presents for my birthday.  What does a birthday look like for a woman with 1000 hobbies.  My husband got my landscaping supplies and the most fabulous bench in the world.  Nope I do not care one bit others might have the exact same bench it is the most fabulous one because he got it for me and I get to sit with coffee while watching my old dogs roam the yard.
Then my wonderful dad got me a hand held sander and my sister a new sewing box which I love.  That is just the high lights but you get the idea.  Well I am knee deep in house projects and loving it such as this trash can I finished off this week.
But I still had some time for painting which is of course my first love.  So pretty much shit is going great.  In the coming week I should have photos of a finished pantry rehab and maybe a few more things.

And the summer project begins with booze containment

So the summer project starts with the smallest room I am working on our walk in pantry.  It is the size of a small bathroom and has crappy storage.  So I am adding in some nifty things.  Nice pet doors to keep the dogs out.  A window perch for the cats they love looking out the window in there.  This wine rack and who knows what else I will come up with.  Well any how this is the start the very rough start of my wine rack.  I wanted it to look aged but as you can tell I made it on the cheap using 2x4s.
This is it a little farther along.  I made my own stain for it to get just the color I wanted.  Want to know how I made my own stain for about 50 cents well read my next post.
This is the last photo I finished it.  I aged it great and make it look pretty rough and primitive.  It will be installed in the pantry this week.  I even made the little covers for the screws you see out of polymer clay I painted and played with.  So here for a weekend on and off of work I have my own large exactly as I want wine rack all at a cost of under $12.00    So hope you all had a good weekend.

Summer Project is underway and this guy is exhausted.

These first few days have been slow and nothing that would make for great photos.  I mean half a cleaned up garage and some shelves in a kitchen do not great photos make.  So I am bringing you my old dog yawning as he woke up from a nap.
This bear is something like me on my off time just exchange the guitar for a book.  Well I am hoping by the end of the week to have real photos for you.  love

Big exciting summer plans

Well guys these here are my dogs as you all know but I love this photo so I am using it every fucking place sue me.  The reason for the photo besides the happy dogs is do you see my porch.  It needs sprucing as do many things around here.
Many of you know me and know we have a long term dream of moving to Sweden likely but some place in Europe as a adventure.    Well in that plan we have to sell this house and that is not right on us but getting closer.  To do so for the money it is worth it to make most of them DIY as it will need a lot of little repairs.
The husband has started a new job that has him away more so here is what I said.  I am taking the summer off to do the repairs.  So when we sell it and while we live in it the thing will be extra spiffy and bring in a good return.
I will not be totally shutting down because I like making things so maybe one or two things a week.  But I am not going to be doing customs with any speed and there will be no urgency to the shop other than mailing out things if they are already made and sell.  I am a bit frightened but excited.
Another way I will be spending my summer is this van.  No I am not fucking in there in the summer it would be hot as Hades.  But a while back I told you I had a plan to redo the van so I could use it to do shows farther away and to have a dog friendly mini travel home.  Well this will also be my project for the summer.  I will do one or two shows to get rid of old stock but I am going to just throw caution to the wind and take some time to do some things I need to do.
This last picture is how I will return if things go badly, no pants and crazy.
So wish me luck that this time off works out for my projects and affords me some inspiration for new places to take the shop in September.
I will blog my remodel adventures as I go if you all would like to be in the know.

Why I love my new art cave and hey who knew maybe change is good.

This is Nikki one of my two dogs.  The other was a sleep at my feet on his little heart bed when I took this.  Why am I sharing it here is why.  Last year we started doing work on our home with the hope to one day sell it and have a adventure move to Europe.  I have been working as a nomad in the house a niche here or there on and off about a year.  Well once I finally conceded to make the front porch which I did not want into the best of a art cave as I could then it all connected.  I am a big believer in the line "You can't always get what you want, but you just might find you get what you need."  Thank you Rolling Stones.  That has been the case for me and this cave.  It has great light and calm breezes.  I am not down in my basement away from the animals, coffee is closer and a metric shit ton less spiders.  It is small and gets hot early.  The good news I own a extra window unit and the size made me really stream line my stuff and unclutter so now I can find the things I really want to work with.
My work is getting a better flow I think any way.
I spend almost every morning making exactly what I want to.  How many people are lucky enough to say that.
Ps.  I am going to try and keep repeating change is good change is good to myself.

Focusing on how I see my world today.

I like the idea of purposefully trying to focus on seeing the good things.  I don't think it cures depression or has any thing magic to it but I do believe it helps things in general.  If you are looking for the beauty and the positive things it is just easier to spot them.  Hopefully drawing your attention away from some of what sucks.  So I bring you one of my pretty flowers.
This is a little scene of just a bunch of my projects laid out.  This made me smile because I love what I do and I like seeing all the variety in one place.  I am trying to remember to be grateful I get to do this for a living.
This thing is god awful ugly and I love it.  It is one of those vintage velvet tapestry things.  It makes me laugh every time I see it.
I hope this little update has made you all smile.  Tell me what makes you happy.

Demon spawn jewelry holder and the Tennesse Waltz

The Tennessee Waltz is playing and I am talking about demon spawn so I think that sums it up.  Today is a gorgeous day I have been out working a lot in my art cave.  Then the dog wanted to come in and I found myself crashing for a left over Easter candy buzz so here I am listening to Sam Cooke and writing to you all.

I kicked in the bottom photo of my craft supplies because I think I am a funny bastard.  Love you all and hope your morning is half as good as mine.

You and your pubic hair a guide to minding your own bushness

So this last week one of my friends pointed out to me that she was chatting in a group and upon stating her pubic care of choice one of the hags started telling her how to be more authentic and what she should do.  The problem o course being it is her pubic hair and her choice what she does with it.  So to keep everyone out of the business of telling others what to do with their bush I made this little Snatch Guide.  It is available for purchase here If you want to bring it home.  I hope this has made you all laugh enjoy your Sunday.

Thumb War and other imporant things

This little painting is my second thumb war painting but I love the idea so I had to make it.  This week has been super busy.  My Zazzle items for Crazy Cat Lady are flying off the shelves.  I had two custom works and I have had other life stuff going on.
These dinosaurs are part of something new I am going to be doing making little scenes to photograph.  So how was your weekend.

Have you seen this cat lady?????

So this has been a busy and weird week.  My cat lady seen above was lifted at some point from my Etsy shop.  Well the image was.  I did not have it tagged as I do now but  well lesson learned apparently the world loves the hell out of a crazy cat lady.  Any how people started sending me links and I know she has been shared just on Facebook this week something more than 30,000 times.
As you can guess that is a lot of missed chances because people had no idea it was from my shop.  So here and now I am saying if you see this cat lady some place uncredited please send this to them or them to me.

Rainbows and clouds filling my days If this shit keeps up I willbe dancing on hills in a ugly ass skirt.

This week has been fantastic.  First I made this jewelry box which it is all I can do to  list and not just hide with some candy and hug it.  Then there was a big thing in my family for my husband he got a hard earned promotion because well he is lucky and works like a demon.  He is maybe the person I know in the world with a stronger work ethic than ants at a picnic.  So beaming with pride for him.

Finished this too it is not up in the shop yet but I love the way the colors play.  I also got my first job on a new site.  Things are just going great and I hope they are for you too.

This is how I spent the weekend.

We hung out a lot.  They spent a good deal of time getting snuggles and sleeping on my feet while I painted.
I organized my craft space.  Shut the fuck up this is me being serious.
I forgot I had this in my Easter stuff so I put it up because why the hell not.

Bigots roundup on Etsy

So the other day I made the horrid error of wandering around the Etsy forums.  I found this posting.  Apparently Rebekah of LeCharmedBoutique wanted a way to nicely someone she was going to discriminate against them.  It is after all very important not to work with gay people because the bible or some such shit.  Please note though she is perfectly OK with skirting the truth to avoid a law suit.  I don't she realized the reason there is no good way to say I am going to refuse you service in my store for no reason but stupid bigotry is because there is not one.  It makes you a douche.  Unless you are following all the rules of the bible and I mean all of them shut the fuck up.  Considering that she was concerned with not getting herself sued and how to work around it I think for starters thou shall not lie is out the window.  So this shop goes on the places I will never shop list.
Stephanie Maurin from ElleGraceCreations  was so classy she compared someone liking people of the same gender with pornography because I can only assume she thinks all gay people are porn stars or something.
See and here is where it really gets gross Mikayla Crosby of MikaylaCrosby explains asking her to paint a image of two people together that happen to be gay is the same as asking someone to paint child pornography.  I would explain to here why she is a fucking idiot as some other people did but when she writes it out herself so well why bother.  I will say in reference to her comment saying you love someone after comparing their love to the abuse of children is a giant crock of shit and you would have to be a total moron not to see that.
Then there was Cathy of SleepingFoxStitchery she was the highlight of this horrid bog of dick bags.  Her comment was sweet and kind and very much how I felt.  It related just how horrifying it is to think of all the hatred wrapped up in "love" being spewed by these people.  I want to hug my friends to.
The good news is there were many people saying hey this is really disgusting or upset like this woman was.  The bad news there were many saying they understood but would be hush hush about it.
This was really the most depressing thing of all.  It is bad enough to think what the hell  what a total idiot discriminating when you see a thread post on Etsy of a individual shop but the response from Etsy was terrible.  Admin went into the thread and removed various post they considered harsh but left the thread up and to my knowledge the store that is clearly discriminating against gay people.
Robert gave a cold and horrifying response.  He explains this is a potentially sensitive topic.  Well fuck yes it is and it is about human rights and basic equality Robert.  This is not a I don't like things that are blue post this is a I want to refuse service to people based on their sexual orientation post.
You are right Robert I did learn something apparently Etsy is going to support shops that promote discrimination.
Then oddly enough he puts up please don;t make post that speak detrimentally about sexual orientation.  Well shit what exactly does one have to say to be detrimental seriously I would like a fucking list.
So what I got from this is hate is alive and well and Etsy is going to turn a blind eye.  The thread is called ( How to turn away a customer ) if anyone wants to read it for themselves on the forums.
Myself I am boycotting the hate filled stores I posted till such time as they start actually providing all customers with respect and service.
Thanks for reading this rather long post but I felt it was important to call these people out on their shit.

Happy days filled with painting and Danger bear and Granny shoes

This is one of my most recent paintings.  It is just very happy and cute so I thought I would share.
Been sewing things and this is one.  I don't know that it will actually go to the shop but it made me laugh so I put it on Zazzle on a mug and shared it around.  Someone on Facebook got made about it so of course that delighted me.
Then I have been working on a new doll and made her these little house shoes.  They remind me of the ones my Grand used to wear.
Have a great week.
